Chapter 30: In Which Our Hero Thrashes The Wicked Duke, Saves A Town From The French And Feeds A Cat

…and he fed it fish, too

Well, we played Session 1 of the Fall Fantasy series (hereforth to be known as “200 Years After”) on Sunday and all went well. Due to schoolwork and such, Grace has bowed out of the group for a few months, but we had new players Rich and Kira, so the group saw a net increase from 4 to 5 players.

After deciding that yes, all of the characters were hoping to seek out fortune and glory (tho in a myriad of ways), they chose to go south, beyond the borders of the Kemin tribal lands. Their goal was/is to find out why ships sailing south are not returning to Cantapor. Naturally enough, they got sidetracked by an old Kemin scroll that referenced a “taboo area” in a grove of trees near the border. During the inspection of this forbidden place they…

1: Found the ruins of a small Old Empire village
2: Found ancient pottery and such that is bound to be worth some $$
3: Rich’s character got bitten by a big snake
4: They caught a crazy old man who had an antidote for the venom
5: Against the crazy old man’s wishes, part of the party followed him into his underground hidey hole.
6: The ones who stayed above ground deciphered some marks on tiles and learned that the Imperials who lived here when magic returned feared for their lives and decided to hide “far below”.
7: Back at the old crazy man’s tunnel hideout, it was discovered that the tunnel goes much deeper.

Next session (in 2 weeks) should be full of rip snortin’ action and adventure.
