“Oh shit, do NOT get me started on Emo Bots. The people in Research and Marketing swore that emo this and emo that was coming up hot with pre-teens and teens, so the Board okayed it. What the hell did most of us know about any emo shit? My youngest kid was 27.
Anyhow, we built the bots which, I was told, were cute boys and girls that young folks would love. We made 150,000 of the goddamn thing and then only sold 10,000 because “emo was no longer a big thing”. A year later, we couldn’t give them away.
We ended up selling most them to Hirogawa Corporation. They reprogrammed them into some kind of anime characters. I hear they sold most of them.
So that’s all I’m saying about those damned bots. Why don’t you ask me about “My Little Wombat”? That was a big success.”
