The Road To The Stairway To The Temple Of Interesting Stuff

…it’s a long trip, really

Once again, I change things around. “A Short Lecture” will return someday.

A Tour Of The Magic Bus: Library

Let’s get this straight right up front: She want’s to be called “Library”. Not The Library, or The Librarian, or anything else. Just “Library”. Call her by any other name at your peril.

Library is huge. REALLY huge. 10 stories tall and at least 2 miles wide by at least 10 miles long. Maybe larger by now.

Why so big? Because she has every scroll, book, magazine, letter, postcard, newspaper, etc, etc, ever written on this planet. ALL of them. Oh, and photographs, movies, videos, etc. There are several rooms on the bus that boggle the mind, but Library beats all of them.

Huge as it is, you can get around Library quickly thanks to teleportals that can take you to exactly what you are looking for. When you get there, Library herself will be waiting to help you.

In her humanoid manifestation, Library resembles a pretty woman of around 30. Beyond that, I can’t get specific because she always looks different. Last time I was there, she looked like an Inuit woman. Before that, she looked Arabic. She is, however, always helpful and polite. She loves reading to children, so kids from the local NHTA school come in three times a week to hear storytime.

A Tour Of The Magic Bus: The Zoo

Our zoo is more like a game preserve than a traditional zoo. Every species has a very large enclosure. In fact, most of the enclosures are pretty much several square miles of ecosystem. Actual size is dependent upon the species, but many species are in each enclosure, just as in nature.

For example, our lions can hunt the zebra and gazelles in their enclosure. Wolves can hunt deer or elk or whatever the prey is in their natural territory.

Some enclosures are small. Our Bog Turtles have an enclosure about 2 miles on a side. Our Elephants are in one 30 miles on a side. You can imagine how big the enclosures are for our dinosaurs.

Yes, we have a wide variety of extinct species. We also have a pretty good sized selection of mythological creatures and monsters. All safe and sound behind Level 5 force fields. We also have preserves for primitive humans and extinct hominids.

Our aquarium is just as big as our zoo. Maybe bigger, I’m not sure.
