Pulp Villain Snapshots: Ganku, The Beast From Shanghai

Location: Shanghai, China
Modus Operandi: Killing and cannabalizing any humans he encountered.
Career Synopsis: The unknown Chinese person who created the mutagenic potion that changed them into Ganku, probably had no idea that it would do what it did. Of course, we’ll never know, because wherever they mixed it up was probably destroyed in the dozens of huge fires the creature started as it rampaged across the city in 1931.
A brief description of Ganku: 8 feet tall, 600 pounds, humanoid with an ape-like build and a tiger/human face full of big sharp teeth. Mostly brown fur, with some black striping on the face and arms. Unable to say more than a dozen words, one of which is it’s name. Kills human exclusively, both for pleasure and food. Very strong, very tough, very fast. Probably of average human intelligence. Highly developed senses.
Ganku terrorized Shanghai and surrounding towns and cities for 3 years, eluding the Chinese authorities and many foreign adventurers and hunters. Then he seems to have just vanished. The prevailing theory is that somebody got a lucky shot. A more likely theory is that the potion finally wore off. Of course, he could have gone off to live in the wild, but that seems unlikely.
