Recent RPG Ideas

Over the past week or so, I’ve had a bunch of ideas for RPG adventures, settings and series pop into my head. Here, for your amusement and/or benefit, are a few of them.

1: Set in pre-revolutionary America, this one features a hero similar to Dr. Syn/The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. The twist comes in (A) having every adult in his home village know who he is and aiding him in his fight against the British and (B) the addition of a bit of magic. I see this as being a very fast paced cliffhanging series.

2: A series that finds our world invaded by intelligent dinosaurs who have come thru a temporal rift to avoid the Yucatan Meteor 65 million years ago. These humanoid dinosaurmen and their domesticated, yet very dangerous, sauroids, don’t much like us except as food. Worse yet, their technology is the equal to ours in many areas and superior in some.

3: A short series of fantasy adventures that finds the PC party stumbling upon a small village in a clearing in the middle of a near impenetrable forest. On the surface, this village appears to be quite normal, but in fact, the villagers are almost entirely people who were once very powerful in the outside world. See, the village is a sort of prison and these folks want out bad. However, they don’t want their rivals to get out, so there is a bunch of wheeling and dealing and double crossing and subterfuge in store for the PCs.

4: Another modern series/setting finds the PCs as normal folks living thru the near total eradication of humanity and almost all of the products of humanity (technology, cities, everything man made). The PCs would pretty much be exploring this new world and encountering small areas where humans still survive.

Time to go to the dog park. More bloggage later.

  1. I think all of them would make great games. I think number two is my favorite. I’ve always liked dinosaurs and an invasion of the dino beasts sounds fun.
