It Came From The …: Junkyard

Basic Information: Released in 1968 by The Toronto Film Group. Running time: 100 minutes Overall rating by Critics Anonymous: B+

Synopsis: After insane Professor Madeline Kenswick’s robot escapes, it it tracked by the police to an auto junkyard, where it is blown apart by a grenade. Soon, however, the robot parts begin to build a new and much larger body. Somehow in telepathic communication with her creation, Kenswick escapes police custody and goes on the run. As the RCMP search for her, her newly resurrected robot crashes it’s way through Toronto.

Review:
This medium budget Canadian production manages to fuse together a police manhunt story, a rampaging robot story, and a bit of political commentary. It shouldn’t work as well as it does, but the fine acting and good special effects make it well worth watching.
