Finally, go down to the pantry and get a good bundle of dried meat, fruits and vegetables. When your packing is complete, hide your pack out in the woodshed.”
The boy nodded. He was a pretty experienced camper due to his accompanying his father and uncles on two and three day fishing trips up at Wide River.
“When you are done with that, you must go spend some time with your parents. Do not tell them you are leaving. I shall explain everything to them once you are gone. Try not to be sad when you are around them, because I’m sure you’ll see them again sooner than you think. Finally, when your friends return to the inn for dinner, you must talk to them in private and tell them everything. Should either of them decide not to go with you, you must leave immediately.
