CritterCon 17, Trip Day Three, Part 1

Okay, I’m breaking today’s post into two parts, in hopes of getting the whole thing online before too late tonight.

We left Las Cruces at 9:00 this morning, after a big breakfast at Skippy & Wolf’s 24 Hour Diner. Our route will be taking us to Lubbock, Texas, with 3 stops along the way.

Our first big news is that Annie portaled in just before breakfast and wil be joining us for the trip and con.

The first stop of the.day was 90 minutes down the road at Happy Corners, an NHT village. The attraction is “Viaky’s House of Balls.” Viaky is a a 12 year old pit mix who started collecting balls of various kinds and sizes when he was just 6 months old. That collection now numbers 75,000 balls! We spent over an hour there just being amazed.

And yes, Blue, Yoyo, Duke and others did sing “Big Balls.”

Our next stop being two hours away, we decided to play some games. I got into a fast paced game of “Chase The Drone”, a dog designed sort of card game, racing game hybrid. Each session only lasts about 15-20 minutes and it was fun. I also played Zombie Dice and Kingdomino.

Way out in the middle of nowhere not far from the New Mexico/Texas border, we stopped at “The World Famous Micro Gravity Crazy Games Pitch.” There was no way on earth we were going to miss that.

So, after paying our entrance fee, we floated into the pitch (designed and built by SJC Industries, the company Sasha founded) and divided into two teams. Various items were introduced and identified, and then the game was on, baby!

We played for 2.5 hours and in the end, Team Mara beat Team Blue 15/2/35/11. Playing in microgravity is both challenging and hella fun. We all recommend it.

And this ends Part 1.
