It took a couple of minutes for Dree to get used to the rhythm of a galloping horse, but once he did, he was doing alright. He was very excited and scared, but he felt pretty good otherwise. He wondered if he had gone insane.
Bevan looked back, but saw no sign of pursuit. He knew they were there, but the hills and a five to ten minute lead meant that he wouldn’t be able to see anything until they hit level ground. That would happen in the next fifteen minutes or so.
Ala was terrified, exhilarated and really needed to pee. She could not believe on top of changing her mind at the last second and selling the horses & wagon, she had whacked a Curator on the head and knocked him out. It was the most insane thing she had ever done and it felt…great.
