Smells Like Toon Spirit: Lord Sapwell
Premiering in the fall of 1971 on the LBS network of Earth 2-B, “Ghostfinders” was a weekly animated series that followed a group of 6 teenagers, their dogs Max & Cookie, and their “spirit advisor”, Lord Basil Sapwell. The group traveled the world investigating suernatural events and looking for the “15 Coins of Power”. Lord Sapwell was the 300 year old ghost of a famed, and more than a bit nutty, ghost hunter. He was also an ancestor of Gary Sapsky, the leader of the Ghostfinders. Lord Sapwell’s voice was provided by Vincent Price for the entire 200 episode run of the series. He is on record as saying it was great fun to do.
