One Thing Leads To Another: Finding Oscar’s Wallet
So, you know how Oscar is always losing things? Well, he lost his wallet somewhere between Selma’s house and here. So me and Pabs tell him we’ll help him find it. He goes back to Selma’s with Lisa and me and Pabs start looking here and along the way. We figure we’ll meet them halfway and somebody will have found it. I mean, it’s only 4 damned blocks.
There we are, checking the edges of lawns, looking in the gutter, asking people on their stoops if the saw it, but nothing. By the time we had gone a block, we had 3 kids helping us. Another block and we see Oscar followed by, like, 5 people.
Just before we meet them, Pab sees the wallet sitting on top of a mailbox. Why the hell Oscar left it there, who knows? He’d lose his head if it wasn’t attached. Anyway, we give it to him and then I see Jenny Kilbride is there helping him look.
Yeah, that Jenny. The cute blonde from the ice creamplace on 23rd. So, she and I get talking and before you know it, I’ve got a date with her to go see a movie and have dinner. Yeah, she’s really nice.
So I guess it’s good that Oscar lost his wallet after all.
