Chapter Six: Words From Ancient Days
Seyan found the title of the old book written inside the front cover. In a clear and strong hand was written “The Book Of Ancient Days: Being a faithful transcription of letters and other writing that tell of the Downfall of Ancient Humans, with some notations included for clarity. Originally transcribed by Grand High Curator Janet Walters, May 12, 35 PD. Second transcription by Grand High Curator Myk Kwouk, August 5, 156 PD. Third transcription by Grand High Curator Dinna Zairs, July 22, 393. Fourth transcription by Grand High Curator Kenik Saddeem, December 2, 500 PD. ”
Seyan read that three times to be sure of what she was seeing. Janet Walters was the first Grand High Curator! All of the others were well known for one reason or another. Apparently, this book was updated for and by Grand High Curators only. So why was she being allowed to read it and transcribe it? What did the present Grand High Curator have in mind for her beyond what he had already told her?
