The notation for this one read: “This has been written so as to attempt to give an idea of how the Ancient Humans saw it. It came from a publication that was read by most of the people living in North America. Similar publications on other continents had the same story.”
The first few words were written much larger than what followed.
“Giant Spacecraft Approaching Earth!”
Seyan imagined that must have grabbed some attention.
“NASA has confirmed that the unknown objects moving towards earth are in fact manufactured spacecraft and not any natural object. The 7 huge craft measure 250 miles long and 75 miles across. They are moving at a speed in excess of 250,000 miles per hour, but are gradually slowing down as they near our planet. At present, they are passing the orbit of Saturn and making slight course adjustments.
Professor Sendip Ramamurtha of Oxford, England has stated that the ships are “almost certainly” generation ships, meaning that they are designed for space travelers to live on for decades or even centuries as they travel the great distance between stars at lower than light speed. Such ships, the Professor said, would have entire ecosystems inside them, as well as populations that could number into the tens of millions.
Ramamurtha went on to say that any opinions about what the aliens inside the ships might be like are merely conjecture at this point and”
The entry ended with a note saying that the abrupt ending was due to the original being partially destroyed. Seyan thought that it was kind of amazing that any of the original paper survived long enough to be transcribed. The world did not generally treat paper well. Precious few scraps of pre-Downfall paper still existed, and even most of the first few centuries of copies were gone, hence the ever busy Transcription and Paper Preservation departments.
