Chapter Eight: Plotters Field

It was a very warm spring day in the fields where the Museum grew so much of its food. Already, the tomato and pepper plants were bearing small fruits and many other vegetables were coming along nicely. It looked like there would be another bumper crop.

High Curator Porcero walked between these fields with one of his most trusted agents, a young person whom he had recruited at an early age and whose loyalty to him was absolute. Of course, this person did not work directly with him, or even with any other High Curator or Curator in his organization. No, this agent worked deep inside enemy territory, reporting back any interesting information. So far, this had worked out very well.

Right now, this young person was supposed to be just delivering to him some papers having to do with departmental meetings and such, but was also giving him a quick update while awaiting his return messages.
