…maybe run?

The Roadie lady laughed at that and the Offy looked disgusted.

“Bugger!,” he said. “I just bought these clothes! Oh well, I need the money and I can always get them washed. I guess I’ll be buying a good hot bath tonight.”

Dree chuckled at that and walked back towards the kitchen to see if his parents had any more hard labor for him. When they told him he was free, he said he was going to see Greaty, but his Mom stopped him.

“She’s in one of her moods, Dree, and asked not to be disturbed until tomorrow morning. You can talk to her then. For now, just go play or something until dinner time.”

Dree nodded and went upstairs to his room, the one he had shared with his brother Ferly until he had gone off to work for Uncle Larn in the sawmill up in Three Hills. Now, the room was all his and he was the last child left at home. Well, the last until Kanta and Poul came back from their honeymoon. When that happened, they’d move into the inn and help Mom & Dad run it until someday taking it over, just as his parents once did.
