The Museum knew about this Empire, of course, but there were only two eyewitness reports written up on it. One was by a Seeker who chanced upon it 30 years ago while returning from an expedition. He had made some quick notes and continued on. The other had been written 12 years ago by a pair of Trainees who had been sent out into the desert to look for certain medicinal plants. Their report was much more detailed, but like the first one, read by very few.
During her time in Transcription, Seyan had read both of these reports, but she had not remembered that yet.
On this day, a visitor from the Museum came to the Quiet Empire. He was young and a fine long distance runner, which is why he had been chosen to go here. He met the guards at the gate and gave the proper greeting to get inside. He walked straight into the home of the Emperor, a muscular man in his late forties, and bowed before him.
