Good old Bill is well known around town as the guy to call if you need something built. House, shed, barn, chicken coop? Bill has you covered! He’ll call up his brothers, Ben, Bob, Bruce, and Burt, and get on your project right away!
Ben and his brothers have a big secret: They are former teenage criminals from the future. In ten years, at the ages of 14-18, the five of them will come to this town and cause huge amounts of property damage and injury to humans and animals. They will be caught, sentenced to life in prison, and locked away.
But 30 years later, they will get the chance to go back in time and use building skills they have learned on prison work crews to change history. You see, everything they build contains nanotech designed to prevent any of their vandalism. The nanotech will also infect them and rewire their brains to stop their destructive tendencies. Thus, they will never end up in prison and will live their lives as useful and valued community members.
Does this create a paradox? No, it just spins off a new reality.
