Another Assortment Of Wands: Hevelen’s Firewand

Welcome, everyone, to another showcase of great wands from the past. Every wand you will see tonight was crafted by the legendary Ozenius of Melland, perhaps the greatest wandmaker in history.

Ozenius was born, as best as anyone can figure, it a city called Rintik, in the now gone kingdon of Buvash, in 1390. He is believed to have died 180 years later, but there is a strong possibility that he managed to rejuvenate himself and run off with his young wife.

Regardless, he created many great wands that were in big demand back when magic could only be channeled through them. These included the Six Wands of Glory, the Dragontamer, and the Wand of Godslaying.

The wands we have on display now are an example of custom built wands that were so tied to the personalities of their users, they ceased to function once those users were dead. And here is our first one, Hevelen’s Firewand.

Known for his interest in fire related spells, Hevelen Halfordsson was a Battlemage from the dwarven lands. It is recorded that 13,000 Imperial Suns for this wand. That would equate to about 75,000 Suns today.

As we can see, the want is stout, being nearly an inch in diameter. It is 14 inches long and has an interion core of dragon tongue and fire salamander skin. The bright red wood is freksia heartwood, and the runes are cold melted granite. We know from the records Ozenius left that this want took 21 days to make and contained the following spells…

Fireball

Fire Sheild

Wall of Fire

Control Fire

Rain of Fire

Summon Fire Elemental

Protection from Fire

and

Helllfire Storm

Hevelen died as he lived, fighting in a war. The War of the Great Beasts, to be exact. Although he killed at least 3 of the brutes, and wounded a dozen others, Hevelen himself got stepped on by the Great Lizard. Now useless, his wand was donated to the museum by the grandchildren of his apprentice.
