A California Kid & Spider Story: The Hot Job

In her small section of the catering truck, Queen Bee was getting progress reports from everyone, taking notes, watching the tv screens, and reporting anything interesting or necessary to the California Kid and Spider. She used the code words they had supplied her.
“All eyes on the fireworks” No need for code there.
“Pork is still in the box” Sick cops are still in the bathrooms.
“Peter P is window shopping” Spider has reached the roof near the access window.
“Smooth is yellow” Paul is awaiting clearance to make his move.
“Big Daddy no longer watching” Senator Jervison is no longer checking Tom & Lucy on the balcony.
After a few minutes, she reported that the band had checked in with a success, Chief Richards had nodded off, and “We are generally cucumbers”, meaning all was cool. The Kid radioed her back and said to reduce chatter to a minimum as they entered the hot spot, meaning the actual stealing was about to take place.
She relayed this to everyone with “It’s quiet time, kids.”
Now it was just about watching for interruptions.
