The Alphabet Bestiary: A Is For…Aplox
Name: Aplox
Type: Herbivorous Biped
Size: Large 9-11 feet tall
Habitat: Subtropical forests
General Information: Aplox have short, very plush fur covering almost all of their bodies except the soles of their feet, palms of their hands, and faces. This fur is very water resistant and affords protection from insects. They feed on a wide variety of vegetation, but favor tender green leaves and flowers.
While not of human level intelligence, Aplox are still quite smart. They use simple tools and seem to have a varied language. They live in extended family groups of up to 20 members. Although they are generally peaceful, they are quite formidable when angry or in protective mode. There are no known predators of Aplox.
