The Alphabet Bestiary: B Is For…Buragas
Name: Buragas
Type: Medium Predator
Size: 3 feet long, 10 inches tall
Habitat: Deserts, plains, light woods
General Information: Buragas somewhat resemble wolverines, but are less aggressive, faster, and hunt in packs of from 4 to 10. Their favorite prey includes rodents, ground dwelling birds, snakes, and small to medium herbivores.
A Buraga’s fur usually matches the environment they live in, so it can run from sandy brown to light green to gray. When not hunting, they live in large dens they dig themselves. During late winter, 2 to 6 pups are born. It takes them nearly a year to reach maturity.
The bite of a Buraga is mildly venomous, but seldom deadly. Mostly, it makes the bitten creature stumble and fall, thus allowing the pack to go in for the kill.
