The Alphabet Bestiary: E Is For…Ectoslugs
Name: Ectoslugs
Type: Undead Gastropod
Size: Small, 6 inches
Habitat: Areas of mass death near gardens
General Information: Imagine a large garden slug. Now make it very pale and incorporeal due to being a ghostly thing. That is an Ecto Slug. They behave like ordinary slugs, except they no longer need to eat the dying or dead plants they live on. They are most often found where a large and deadly battle once took place, if that place was fairly near a garden or farm. Ectoslugs are totally harmless to the living.
Because Ectoslugs exude a slime trail of pure ectoplasm, his slime is often sought out by wizards and necromancers for use in rituals, potions, or spells. They usually pay quite well for it. Of course, the areas the slugs are found in are often rife with ghosts and other undead, so slime collectors earn their pay.
