The Alphabet Bestiary: I Is For…Iron Beast Of Arkos
Name: Iron Beast Of Arkos
Type: Enormous Iron Golem

General Information: This gigantic golem was created after Yarkos the Second, Sorcerer King of Arkos, had a fever dream that he swore connected him with a person on another world who saw a living version of the Beast. The next day, he ordered all of the kingdom’s wizards and ironworkers to his throne room, where he told them what he wanted built. He added that they should spare no expense to make it exactly as he wanted it. He then sent them on their way.
Five years, 63 deaths, and an incalculable amount of money and magic later, the Iron Beast was finished and ready to activate. Yarkos did just that, then sent the Beast, followed by his army, to conquer nearby Karvinia. This took two days. After that, Morkost,Ul Dapa, Sorvistan, and Ekosia fell, the latter two surrendering before the Beast even got near them.
The Arkosian Empire was created. Yarkos died 7 years later and his daughter, Lamilla, ascended to the throne. Uninterested in conquest, she ordered the Iron Beast to patrol the borders in case of enemy attack. Such an attack will never come, so for 30 years now, the great golem just continues it’s 11,000 mile patrol, making a complete circuit every 14 months.
The Iron Beast resembles an upright, bipedal reptile of some sort. It has a 250 foot long tail that can smash even the strongest buildings. It can breath a terrifying blue fire that ignites all it touches. It also stomps everything in it’s path flat.
