General Information: Old Book Demons are minor demons that have been punished by more powerful demons.This punishment takes the form of turning them into an old book and placing them on a shelf in some musty old bookstore in the Material Plane, where they will remain until an individual reads them from cover to cover.
The OBD cannot speak, work and magic, or influence anyone. It can, twice a year, cause itself to fall off the shelf onto the floor when a person is nearby. Sometimes, the curious person buys the book and reads it, but generally, they just put it back on the shelf or ignore it.
There are a few sages and mystics who can and do seek out OBDs, offering to release them if they impart knowledge once released. Any OBD will agree with this.
