Eddie is one of the good guys. If he gets one good paying case from some wealthy quack, he’ll take 2 or 3 cases from ordinary Joes and Janes at half his normal rate or less. He’s on good terms with most cops, and they help him when they can. Same goes for reporters. Local politicians think he has enough in his private files to warrant their cutting him slack when he needs it.
And on top of all that, he volunteers at the local animal shelter one day a week.
Yeah, Eddie is one of the good guys.
