…but they’d never admit it.
Last night, when all the neighbors started setting off their fireworks, we discovered that Daisy is one of the many dogs who get terribly frightened by all the loud noises. The poor girl was shaking and panting uncontrollably. She was also trying to find a dark corner to curl up in, so I used some milk crates and blankets to build her a little hidey hole cave. Once she was safely enconced it it, she curled up tight and fell asleep as soon as the fireworks stopped. Next year, I’ll have a nice little soundproof den ready for her.
Winker, on the other hand, seemed totally unaware of the fireworks. She was, however, pretty concerned about her big sister and checked on her several times throughout the evening.
From what I could tell, every kid in my suburb was setting off fireworks yesterday, and every dog didn’t like it. Not a pleasant afternoon of peace and quiet. :D
