A Pointcrawl In 8 Points: Point 5: Iron Lake
.
Note: A pointcrawl is a way for a GM to map out an adventure that has a point to point path, at least for the main adventure. It is often, but not always, a sort of “on the road” setting. In this pointcrawl, our heroes will be going after a famous thief and the Really Important Thing she has stolen.
This Point: Iron Lake is a large lake up in the Ironheart Hills. It is an important water source got the dwarves that live there. While all the dwarven cities are underground, there are several small human and dwarven villages located around the lake. Most have populations of under 300. The principle business in the villages is the manufacture and sale of weapons and armor.
These town are pretty sedate and offer little in the way of nightlife. On the other hand, there is always plenty of gossip, so finding out about DeeDee should be easy.
What you can do in Iron Lake: Visit a few villages looking for DeeDee (all rumors point to her being in the North Shore village of Pine Bay)…In Pine Bay, you’ll have to convince Dynar the Swordmage to tell you what the magical weapon is he made for DeeDee (Axe of Deathstrike). He will also know were she went with it (back west to Wzladkan, via the Fugitive’s Route to the north)…DeeDee is only a day ahead of you.
What lies between here and Wzladkan: 10 days of riding through the Huzrta Canyon on narrow trails that may run right next to the Huztra River or run 300 feet up the side of the canyon. Food will be scarce. Civilization is nowhere to be found.

A Pointcrawl In 8 Points: Point 6: Wzladkan /The Ruins Of Jarpa
.
This Point: The Fugitive’s Trail through Huztra Canyon eventually brings you to the windswept moors of Wzladkan, oldest of the Western Kingdoms. Once it was a large and powerful realm. Now, it is small and poor. Most people believe that once the current king, Frvalik the Third dies, his sons will fold the kingdom into the Golden Empire of the West.
The largest town, indeed, the only real town in the kingdom, is Pulvska, with a population of around 30,000. Once there, you will quickly find out, after liberal bribing, that DeeDee headed 50 miles north to the Ruins of Jarpa.
Jarpa was once the crown jewel of the kingdom, bot 350 years ago, something happened to destroy the entire city and kill everyone in it. Since then, it has been a forbidden place. The locals believe that ghosts and demons live there. If DeeDee is going there, she must be doing some ritual.
On the way across the moors to Jarpa, you’ll realize that you are being followed by three people. If you set an ambush for them or otherwise beat them in a fight, you’ll learn they are assassins sent to kill you after you get the box from DeeDee. They were hired by the crime syndicate in Redstone City. Somebody very high up in city government wants the box and wants all knowledge of it erased.
In Jarpa, you finally meet DeeDee and about a dozen friends. She tells you that the ritual is done and the thing in the box now has the Axe of Deathstrike. She says you can return the box to Redstone City, but you might want to visit Bigwoods and Mibik Five Eyes first. Then she and her friends (who outnumber you) leave.
What you can do in Jarpa: Not get killed…talk to DeeDee.
What lies between here and Bigwood: Two weeks travel on a good trade road…possibly bandits or a few wild animals.
