Facts About Potions: Creation

The most dangerous part of the potion making process is always the creation portion. The number of things that can go wrong, especially with long and involved creation processes, are enormous. Anything from improper measurement to wrong temperature to stirring too long in the wrong direction can ruin a potion.

And ruined potions can sometimes become deadly.

The simple fact that some honeytree sap was not kept properly warmed and an apprentice poured it too quickly into the cauldron is why the Tower of Hurvall the Wondrous is no more, along with Hurvall, the apprentice, and 14 other beings.

For all potion creation, a detailed checklist is an absolute must. Do not cut corners on this!

Similarly, going through a rehearsal beforehand, with all of your apprentices and helpers, is an excellent idea.

Rest well the night before you begin any potion creation, especially if you plan on being at it for more than 12 hours. Have a Potion of Wakefulness available for everyone.

Remember: You are undertaking a potentially deadly process, so be prepared!
