Ordinary Folks: Burt Furmin
Good old Burt is a much beloved fellow in town. He’s been doing handyman work and carpentry for going on 40 years now. He started out working with his dad, Frank Furmin, back when Furmin Construction build half the houses on the north side of town. When Frank retired, Burt let his brother Paul take over the business while he started doing the handyman gig.
Burt is 60 years old and looks the way you’d expect a working man his age to look. Weathered tan skin, wrinkles, thinning gray hair, scars on his rough skinned hands, and a bit of a stooped posture. He’s not bad looking, as many older ladies in town will tell you.
Burt lives alone with his dogs, Pokey & Zeke, his cats, Mama & Papa, and his 50 year old parrot, Salty. Being a handyman, his home is always in great repair, and it looks great.
Burt is also a talented cook, as many of those older ladies will tell you. Burt has them as dinner guests several nights of the week. One at a time, of course.
