Well, he used magic, didn’t he? I mean, a bloody army of 5,000 was outside his lair, ready to unleash spell and steel, so he had to escape. He weren’t no idiot.
So the old boy had this lair with only one dragon sized way in or out, but plenty of ways out for little critters. Well, sir, he just uses a transformation spell and turns himself into a cat, then runs out the back way as death and destruction is unleash through the front.
Now, where he went after that, I can’t say, but I do know that he’s still a cat, and will be for a good long bit. Safer than being a dragon, wot?
