The Dead Forest
This stretch of the road is 125 miles of weirdness. First of all, the Road itself has become a 20 foot wide grass path. The grass is green, lush, about 4 inches tall, and horses will love eating it.
However, the dead forest goes on for 25 miles on either side of the Road. These dead trees are examples of dozens of species, but all of them are long dead. The grass under them is yellowish and unhealthy looking. There is no animal life here, nor are there any monsters.
Their are small camp sites, complete with huts and fresh water wells, every 25 miles or so. They are set just a few feet off the Road and the grass under them seems ordinary.
Travelers on this part of the road may experience all sorts of strange things, from hallucinations to nightmares.
