The Howling Wood
Lycanthropes of all sorts live here. Not all are dangerous, but the majority are, even if you do not leave the road. The presence of silver showing out in the open will curtail 98% of attacks. Note that these lycanthropes are not bound to the full moon, but all of them are bound to the night.
As you might imagine, almost nobody travels this portion of the road. During the day, the cursed humans who live here in small villages will be very shy, but friendly. They will sell you food, but that is all. They insist on being paid only in copper pieces. They will urge you to leave their land as fast as possible.
Lycanthropes you could meet here include wolves, lions, bear, tiger, boar, coyote, badger, jaguar, bull, crocodile, rhino, ape, rat and wolverine.
This part of The Road is 140 miles long, 60 feet wide, gravel during the day, and short fur at night.
