Stairway To…: Surf City

Of my latest stairway adventure, I can only say it was pleasurable. After walking up ten steps made of warm sand, I was not too surprised to find myself on a beautiful beach full of barely dressed young humans. They were listening to music playing from small boxes, eating and drinking, dancing about, and most of all, riding waves whilst standing on boards not unlike those used by the Feskil Island natives to fish from.
The skill with which these young people rode the waves was amazing. After introducing myself as a tourist, the young people offered me food in the form of a sausage on a bun called a “hot dog” and a bottle of sweet carbonated drink called “coke”. I chatted with them for well over an hour before deciding to decline a lesson in how to “surf”, as they call it. I instead returned home.
While I did not find heaven, I at least had a good time.
