Another Assortment Of Wands: Mulpo’s Fakeout Wand
We know almost nothing about the adventuring mage known as Mulpo, save that he was active between 600 and 630 years ago and he never dressed in wizardly robes. Instead, it is said he dressed as everything from a fighter to a hired hand. And in all of these guises, his wand would change to to match. As a cleric, his wand might be a mace or a sacred staff. As a fighter, it might be a sword, while in a theive’s form, it could be a dagger. This gave him not only protection from immediate attack, as wizards are prone to attract, it gave him the element of surprise.
And it worked very well! While Mulpo himself is a mystery, several of his exploits are not. One of my personal favorites is the tale of 5 Green Trolls who ignored and walked past the sniveling hired boy, only to then get hit from behind by a Chain of Lightning spell. They were then finished off in short order.
So great was the ensorcellment of this wand that for 80 years after Mulpo is presumed to have died, it would change it’s appearance every few days.
