Another Assortment Of Wands: Sivsov’s Trapper

Ozenius once stated that the creation of this wand, Sivsov’s Trapper, was one of the more dangerous creation processes of his career. This was because it links to another reality, and a world there that is magic free and exceedingly dangerous. It probably did not help that the wand is made of several very rare and even deadly substances. The putting together of it was, to quote Ozenius, “a three week exercise in avoiding injury, poisoning, and possible death”. It is said that Sivsov paid 50,000 gold moons for the wand, which would probably have let him buy his home kingdom of Hiskovia.

But Sivsov wanted to accumulate a different type of power, not political power. This wand allowed him to do that via it’s ability to absorb all magic from an object once it was in use.

Wizard casting a spell via a wand? Absorbed! Warrior using a magical sword? Not anymore! Thief turns invisible because of his magic ring? Oops, visible again!

Over about an 8 year period, Sivsov filled his wand with an enormous amount of power, so much so that it began crackling with energy and having unusual effects upon his person. It was then that he knew he must use it or possibly suffer changes he could not fight off.

And use it he did, because it was Sivsov who brought magic back to the world of personal magical ability. No longer was the casting of spells limited to just using wands to channel it. Once again, wizards and mages could cast a spell just by knowing it.

Sadly, the week long swirling 1,000 meter high and 200 meter wide storm of magical chaos that Sivsov summoned also utterly destroyed him and everything around him, except the wand. It was brought here 50 years later and was placed in it’s current display case, along with the remaining paintings and writings of Sivsov.
