New Cryptids: Ratgirl
New Yorkers are no strangers to rats. They can be found all over the city, living off the things we discard and not taking much shit off any other species, including humans. Recently, however, a new rat problem has popped up: Ratgirl.
According to the dozens of people across the Five Boroughs that have seen her, and the nearly 4 minutes total of video, she seems to be a young woman of average height and weight with long black hair and a decide ratlike facial appearance. Her hands look normal, but have long sharp looking nails. Her ears are large and stick out a bit. Her nose is longer than normal as are her eyes. There seems to be disagreement as to her having a tail. She is usually dressed in jeans, a t-shirt, and a long jacket.
She has never spoken to anyone, and when pursued can run very fast. She also is adept at climbing. At one encounter, she was being pursued on foot by 8 police officers and two canine units and lost them all in under 3 minutes.
The mayor’s office has denounced Ratgirl as a hoax, but the various law enforcement groups say she is an open case. Scientists who have examined bits of her hair have noted abnormal DNA results.
It is worth noting that since sightings of Ratgirl started, a number of registered sex offenders, armed robbers, gang members, and a couple of dirty ex-cops, have turned up dead. Cause of death? Human sized rat bites.
