Seven Places Along The Old Valley Road: The Haunted Grove
Located just 6 miles south of Four Fall village, the exact hauntedness of this lovely grove of aspens is debatable. This author, when he passed through with 4 friends 9 years ago, found it to be mildly uneasy to pass through, but not actually frightening. On the other hand, my friend Sister Bomia was “quite afraid and feeling a chill in the air.” Other groups and individuals say it is much worse at night, mostly due to ghosts being visible.
The traveler should be aware that horses and dogs seem unaffected by these woods. My cat, Henri, slept for the entire 20 minutes it took to pass through.
