Name: Tempting Mimic
Type: Shapeshifter
Size: 5 to 200 pounds
Habitat: Almost anywhere except frozen wastes and scorching deserts
General Information: In most ways, these creatures are like the common Mimic,but they have one deadly difference: they can scan the minds of intelligent creatures and find out what things might tempt them to interact with it. Thus, a thief might be wanting a good haul of jewels, so they would see a chest or bag full of them. A mage might see a table with a powerful wand on it. Whatever the victim sees, it could very well result in the Mimic getting a good meal.
While the Mimic’s power works best on a single person, it can survey several minds and transform into the thing they all might want. Sometimes, this is as simple as a nice place to rest and sleep. In those cases, the Mimic may have to set some aside for a later meal.
