The Alphabet Bestiary: U Is For…Uxvu
Name: Uxvu

Size: Big 7 feet long, 6 feet tall, 2,500 pounds
Habitat: Coastline of Northern Wu
General Information: Uxvu started life as Uxog, a large ape, and Vutun, a prize draft horse. Both of these animals were on exhibition at the annual “Week of Wonders Fair” in Shuzhing when a magical fight broke out between two wizards. In a matter of moments,a dozen other wizards joined the fray as ordinary folk rapidly left the area. A few minutes later, several spells caused what wizards refer to as “an inversion and expansion of magical power”, and what layfolk call “a huge three minute long magical storm.”
When it was all over most of the wizards were dead, but three survived, if you call being turned into goo, a skunkrat, and a floating head survival. Many things around themhad been destroyed or killed.
Except the new creature called Uxvu.
Now a gorilla centaur, Uxvu has increased intelligence and the ability to speak. He can also cast a few simple spells. Realizing that he could escape a life of being a beast in a cage and pulling heavy loads, Uxvu raced out of town at a speed much faster than any normal horse. Eventually, he found himself on the coast of Northern Wu, a lightly settled area that he found pleasant.
Now 15 years later, Uxvu lives a good life. The local people like him and he helps them in any way he can. One of his main jobs is patroling the Old Coast Road for bandits, ne’er do wells, and Royal Tax Collectors. Very few of those types are ever seen.
