Name: Winged Weasel
Type: Small carnivorous mammal
Size: 1 pound, 15 inches
Habitat: Temperate forests from Valduria to Glonost
General Information: Nobody knows how this species of weasels got wings, but they’ve been around for at least 2,500 years. They are brown and white. Their wings are strong, but delicate. When not flying, the wings are folded up tight against the body. The wings are primarily used for hunting or escaping predators.
In all other respects they behave like any other weasels. They do not bother humans or large animals, so they are generally left alone. Once in a great while, some wizard or ranger will have one as a familiar or animal companion. In such cases, they are very loyal to their humanoids.
