Odd Jewelry: The Blue Bracelet
Lot 11 is an interesting piece. Carbon dating puts the age at about 18,000 years old, and it certainly looks primitive, yet nobody has a clue as to what the blue metal it is made from actually is. Some tests identify it as some form of copper, while others claim it is a nickel alloy. No definitive identification seems to be possible. Likewise, there is no explanation for the fact that the bracelet weighs less than half of what it should. Truly an amazing item.
