Terk’s Cove Info
We start our series 5 years after war has raged between Travalia, Arven, and the Lu’Gruth Empire. An uneasy peace exists, but more aggression is doubtful, since all three had huge losses of people, mostly men. It is a time of rebuilding with an iron fisted rule, because no country can afford anyone leaving due to food rationing, forced labor, etc. Common folk live in fear. Only the farmers and ranchers avoid the worst of it, and even then they work long hard hours for little pay.
Meanwhile, over the Coastal Range of mountains, Terk Corfnell, age 26, has been living alone save for his dogs, Kizo and Pommi, for 5 years. He fled from a battle and after days of crossing the mountains came to the flatlands of the coast. Finding this large, but shallow lagoon, he built a hut on the far shore near one of the creeks that feed into it.
He enjoys life here. Hunters, using the very illegal Hunter’s Trail, and pirates & smugglers who take their small boats into the cove, enjoy partaking of Terk’s homemade wine and smoked meats. They pay in trade goods or hard coin. But they all stop coming by when the weather gets bad.
But Terk manages, mostly because winters here are not too long or cold. He mostly uses the time to hunt, fish, and make more wine. In the spring and summer, he plants a garden.
As our tale begins, Terk is living in a small hut. He has a small woodshed/smokehouse and an outhouse. He has set log benches up around a firepit, so visitors can relax while eating and drinking. But lately, Terk has been thinking of contacting his brothers and sisters, who live in western Travalia with their families, to see if they want to come live at the Cove.
Poll 1 First Month
In the late fall, Terk makes the ten day trek over the mountains to western Travalia, where his two brothers live on the old family farm. His two sisters live too far to the east to visit this time.

1: Terk goes to visit his sibs and gives them some money. He asks them to come join him, but they fear getting caught trying to leave. They do get him some tools and other supplies.
2: Terk’s youngest brother, Ervan, 19 and unmarried, agrees to join him. Ervan also has access to a mule, so they can take more supplies.
3: Terk is joined by his brothers, Ervan and Doureg, Doureg’s wife Akali, their young son Shen, and Akalli’s widowed best friend, Nirma. They have a two horses, a mule, three pregnant doe goats, and three hens and a rooster, plus tools and supplies.
4: In addition to #3, they are joined in the last minute by Ervan’s friend, Stulli. She is a large and friendly girl who works with her blacksmith father. She brings along her horse, her tools, her supplies, and her dog Gogo.
