The Alphabet: NPC Edition: Mister Buttons
Some people think Mister Buttons is just an imaginary bunny that children create, but they would be wrong.
Well, okay, Mister Buttons isn’t technically “real”, and yeah, only prepubescent kids can see and hear him, and okay, he does look like a 5 foot tall yellow bunny rabbit, but he’s much more than that. He’s the future of humankind.
Mister Buttons is a psychic transmission being sent back from 116 years in the future to ensure that history happens as the people from then know it. The fact is, the world is going to shit in about another 15 years, when most of these kids will be in their 20s. But because Mister Buttons is teaching them what to do and how to do it, human civilization will come out the other side of things intact.
Well, not entirely intact. Billions will die and the old ways of doing things will be abandoned. But a billion or so humans will be okay.
Mister Buttons: 5 foot tall, 100 pounds, yellow fur, blue eyes. He does not wear clothing. His voice is always calm and reassuring. He can appear at any time of the day or night, when a child is alone.
