Skills I Picked Up: Painting
(Yet another tip of the old bandana to Spike Jones for suggesting this theme.)
Yeah, I’m no Rembrandt, but I can paint better than the average art student. Started learning to paint from an artsy girl I met in New York the summer after graduating from high school. We were both too poor to do much that cost money, so we mostly painted and had sex. By the time summer was over and she went on to college, I was pretty good at both those things.
Once I was back on the road and had earned a few bucks down in Miami escorting wealthy divorcees around, I bought some paints and supplies and started selling quick paintings wherever I stopped. I was never going to get rich, but I could gas up the car and get food.
So yeah, I can paint pictures. I can also paint houses. Learned that in Denver while staying with Uncle Matt.
