Doc Tempest VS The Pleasure Droids

…from the April, 2009 issue

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Altho I know she’ll never read this blog, I want to wish my mom a Happy 79th Birthday. She’s a pretty exceptional gal. Also, I want to thank her for letting myself, my sister Rosie and my brother Kelly live to adulthood. Goodness knows that couldn’t have been an easy decision:)

Grace and I will take mom out for brunch next weekend, due to this weekend being booked up by my sibs and nieces & nephews.

Poll Time!

  1. A suggestion should “Mechanic” win out;
    Romulus “Hambone” Hamilton
    Hawk’s trusted friend and sidekick, there’s no one handier than a wrench than old Hambone. A pilot of some skill himself, due to popular ethnic tensions of the time, he was not allowed to fly during World War I, and was instead regulated to a mechanic. It was during the war that Hawk made the acquaintance of Hambone, and the two formed a fast friendship that lasted beyond the war, with Hawk hiring hambone as his personal mechanic.
    Although technically his employer and despite lingering social mores, Hawk considers Hambone an equal in every way, and is always glad to let him fly the plane when he has other duties to attend to.
    Hambone still likes to call Hawk “Boss”, though more as a friendly nickname than a term of subjugation.

    1. I’ve had friends who’ve worked with monkeys, and believe me, they are NOT cute and lovable!
      Monkeys are the asshats of the animal kingdom!

    2. I was just about to post in with that exact same suggestions Eerie, isn’t it?
      Of course, I would prefer an orang-utang. Longer arms. Better read.

      1. (excited nod) Yeah! And you could call him Tang for short!
        Not only can Tang work on the motors with his opposable thumbs, but with an index finger he can use fire-arms! An adventure with Hawk and Tang would be “Every Which Way But Safe”!
        ::B::
