Magic Items That Don’t Look Cool: Hammer Of Doom
Legend has it that a person filled with anger and hate can use the Hammer of Doom to slay many enemies with but a single blow…and legend is right. When used in anger by somebody who desires revenge upon a hated enemy, the Hammer of Doom will instantly slay all enemies within a mile of where the Hammer strikes. Just slam it down on the ground and that’s all she wrote for the people on your hate parade.
Most people would think that any magical artifact called the Hammer of Doom would look impressive and be big, but such is not the case. Rather than looking like Mjollnir or some fancy dress hammer belonging to a Dwarven warrior, The Hammer of Doom looks pretty much exactly like a well used 6 pound sledge hammer that a blacksmith might use. The wooden handle is worn smooth and even has a small crack in it. The steel head is well used and a bit rusty. It has no marks at all that indicate it might be magical.
It is not advised that you use this hammer to do any smithing if you are pissed off at anybody nearby.
