Pirates Of The Circle Sea: Captain Aksima Vell
(Note to roleplayers: These characters have no numbers assigned, but I do use various words to denote abilities, skills, etc)
Captain Vell is a tall slender woman who is very strong, despite her appearance. She is has above average looks, but a life at sea is taking a toll on them. She has just turned 40 years old and is beginning to think of one day retiring from the pirate life…but not today.
Aksima is a tough but fair captain, dishing out punishment and praise as it is deserved. Her crew is extremely loyal to her and most have been with her for years. Unlike many captains, both Navy and Pirate, she stocks up on good food and plenty of rum. When booty is divided, she takes 20 shares for the ship, but only three shares for herself.
Captain Vell has excellent seamanship and pirating skills and is regarded as superior with sword or pistol. There are probably no more than a dozen pirates or Navy personnel that are her equal in those areas. She is also an excellent bargainer when it comes time to sell off the prizes taken from fat merchant ships.
In matters of the daily operation of her ship, the Sea Goddess, she defers to her First Mate, Miss Deelena Hixx and her Boatswain, Mr. Loorkas. Her Helmsman, Mr. Crubb, has been with her from her very early years, as has her Raiding Master, the 7 foot tall Kivosian known only as Rugothar.
Captain Vell, her crew and the Sea Goddess are feared and hated by the merchants and the Navies of the Circle Sea. Recently, the King of Corcoro approved a $25,000 bounty for Aksima herself, with another $10,000 for her crew. Only the mysterious and terrifying masked pirate known as The Sea Demon has a higher bounty.
Aksima is 6’3” tall and weighs 185 pounds. She has short black hair and blue eyes. She has 9 tattoos and probably twice that many scars. She is fluent in at least 4 languages and can get by in another 6 or 7. When she is in port, Captain Vell enjoys painting, especially landscapes and still lifes.
