Places NOT To Go: Sabula 4

.

Attention Spacer! This is an automated warning from Sector 936 Command!

You are approaching the Class 5 planet Sabila 4. It is recommended that unless you are experiencing a dire failure of ship’s systems, you should not land here.

Sabula 4 is known to possess unknown qualities that cause uncontrollable psionic reactions when non-native sapients spend more than a few hours here. These reactions are always of a Level 6 or higher. Death is a near certainty.

Be aware that Sabula 4 is also home to a vast number of extremely dangerous lifeforms, including the Giant Romsa, the Quoon and the Aerox.

It is advised that if you can, get you ship to Sabula 5, where you will find a research station.

Places NOT To Go: The Village Of The Mad

.

Ye young ones listen to old Wimbertins and listen good! If ye be walking along some road at night and ye be tired and hungry and thinking of drink, ye might hear sounds of a party. Yes, the sounds of a whole village making merry! If ye hear that, and maybe get the barest whiff of cooking, turn away from it and run as far as ye can, then run some more!

That be the Village of the Mad, a cursed place that comes into being at night, once a year, on some lonely stretch of road. If ye go into that village, ye’ll be given food and drink. Ye’ll be invited to dance and sing, and ye will, too. Ye’ll lose ye senses and then, when the sun comes up, ye’ll be trapped there forever, mad as a March hare.

So be wary, ye travelers. Be wary of the Village of the Mad!

Places NOT To Go: The Oasis Of Flowers

.

Yes, we see it, Hamoud. A beautiful oasis with so many flowers and a large pond. It is very attractive, but we will not be stopping there.

Why? Listen, my young friend. Tell me of the birdsong you here? No? Well then, perhaps you can see animals drinking that doubtless cool and refreshing water? No? You hear or see none of that?

I shall tell you why. In that oasis, the plants rule. If a bird or other animal, even a lizard or snake, enters there, the smell of the flowers will soon put them to sleep. After that, vines and roots emerge and wrap around the sleeping creature. Soon, it is reduced to a skeleton, for the plants release sap that dissolves the flesh and organs.

So, do you still want to go there? Hahaha! I thought not.
