Realities Where Most Often Encountered: Late 19th to early 21st Century Basic Earth
You might meet Strange Eddie on any big city street between the years 1875 and 2025. He could be any ethnicity or color, but he’s always male and he’s always just a bit off center. He’s also potentially very useful. Or not.
Most people who have met a Strange Eddie agree that there is something odd about him. Sometimes several things. He may suddenly lapse into speaking some other language, or he might be followed around by several dogs and/or cats. He could ramble on about esoteric theories in physics or possibly burst into song. Nothing batshit crazy, just odd stuff.
Mind you, Strange Eddie is not dimwitted or a substance abuser. He’s actually very smart. He’s not homeless, either, although his living space may be very cluttered and decorated strangely.
The one thing Strange Eddie always is? A guy who knows what is going on in his part of town, which almost always is the part of town where trouble lives. For a pretty reasonable fee, he can give you plenty of info on whomever or whatever you want to know about. The only caveat is that all the info he gives you may not be current or even true. He usually runs about 20% useless or even dangerous info. Buyer beware.

People You Might Meet: Jifkis The Mage

Realities Where Most Often Encountered: Fantasy Earths with low to medium magic levels
Jifkis is always three things, regardless of what world you meet him on: He’s a pretty talented low level mage, a con artist and a coward. He is often, but not always, on the run from “a recent misunderstanding”.
You will never encounter Jifkis out in the wilderness, because it’s too dangerous. Even when traveling from one city or town to the next, he usually travels with other people. In town, he might be staying at any number of places, depending upon his financial status and his current scam. He does not gamble, but he does enjoy drinking in moderation. What he really enjoys is the company of good looking and lusty men and/or women. He also enjoys good food.
Odds are, you’ll either be seeking Jifkis for help on a theft or scam, or you’ll be looking to kick his ass for scamming you. If it’s the former, he may well join, dependent upon the risk and reward. If it’s the latter, be aware that his two favorite spells are Invisibility and Teleport.
