Unlike other people we’ve covered Ellie does not have information to sell or a talent you can hire. What she does have is a warm, roomy place to stay that is not on the radar of, well, anybody.
Annie, who looks 50 but is actually only 35, is the sole surviving member of a once wealthy and powerful family. When her mother died, she left Ellie two things: A big secluded house just outside of town and a large steamer trunk full of money to pay for the upkeep of the place.
Ellie promised her mother that she would always help those in need and that is what she does. Every day she goes into the city, dons her Apple Cart Ellie disguise and pushes her cart full of fruit around. When she meet somebody who needs a place to stay or hide, or somebody who is hungry or sick, she has her trusted friend, Al, drive them out to the house. Once there, Ellie and other friends, many of them people she helped out, tend to them.
